Terms

The terms, which are short because the deal is.

Cursus is free, your CV belongs to you, and there is nothing to cancel. The rest is detail, and it is here so neither of us has to guess later.

What Cursus is

A tool for writing a CV and downloading it as a PDF or a Word file. It is free, there is no card, and there is no tier above the one you are on.

Your account

One account belongs to one person. Signing in is by link or by Google, GitHub or LinkedIn, so whoever can read your inbox can reach your CVs. Keep it secure, and tell us at hello@getcursus.app if somebody else gets in.

Your CV is yours

You keep every right in what you write. Cursus stores it so it can give it back to you, and does nothing else with it. It is not published, not sold, not shown to recruiters, and not used to train anything.

What you may not do

  • Put someone else’s personal details in without a reason to hold them.
  • Upload anything unlawful, or anything you have no right to use.
  • Try to reach another person’s CV, account or share link.
  • Automate against the service heavily enough to spoil it for other people.

Any of those and the account can be closed.

Share links

A share link is readable by anyone holding the URL. A passcode and an expiry date are options, not defaults, so treat the URL itself as the secret until you have set one.

A link carries a snapshot of the CV as it was when you made it, so your later edits stay private until you refresh it. Any link can be revoked from Settings, and revoking is immediate.

No warranty

Cursus is provided as it is. It is free and run with care, but not with a guarantee of being available, correct, or able to read every file you give it. Download your exports and keep a copy of anything that matters. That is what the exports are for.

Ending it

Delete your account whenever you like, from Settings, under Account and data. It removes everything. We can close an account that breaks these terms, and will say why.

Liability

So far as the law allows, Cursus is not liable for lost work, a missed application, or anything else following from the service being unavailable or wrong. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Which law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts are the ones that settle a dispute about them. The date at the top says when they last changed.
